So last night, Cap’n Kinder and I hit up the Doomtree show at The Troubadour. It was my 3rd time seeing the whole crew together, and they crushed on every single level. They might be my favorite band to see live right now. Just phenomenal. I know, I know….”Yeah, but Andy…I don’t really like hiphop…”

Anyways, after the show, as usual, they all hung around talking to fans, taking pictures, and just generally being the super fucking cool people that they are. And then I thought, “Oh shit…I could probably get everyone to sign my No Kings hat.
And wouldn’t you know it, we did…and Cap’n Kinder managed to get pics of most of them doing it. (somehow we missed shots of Paper Tiger and Dessa signing it, but oh well)
Seriously…Doomtree is about as punk as it gets. They record their own records, release them on their own label, do their own merch, book their own shit, make their own videos…

Comadre x P.O.S x Atlas
…welcome to throwback-Thursday. this collaboration is definitely in my top favorite things that we have done. when the plan to do an all-collab mixtape came up, one of the first ideas of mine was to have homie DEADER (of ATLAS) remix one of our songs. we thought “Hamlets” would be tight since the vocals would be easy to pick apart and there are a lot of things you could do with the variation of drum parts. so once we got that in motion, i hit up homie P.O.S to see if he wanted to do a few verses on the track. having just met him not too long before this, and being a huge fan of his music and overall awesome attitude, i was stoked when i got a quick reply telling me he was down. (if you don’t know what’s up, go get his record “Never Better” and get ready for a goooooodass time). and yeah, that was that; this track came into our hands a few weeks later from P.O.S’ studio, we did the final mixing over at Jack’s studio, and i couldn’t be more happier on the outcome. thanks again to Diego and Stef for hooking this up hard.
POS’s new record is easily my most anticipated record of 2011. And then today I just heard news that a new Atlas EP comes out in the next few weeks.
FUCk. YES.
